Queen of Instagram Abigail Ratchford Is More Than Just a Pretty Face

Abigail Ratchford is a force to be reckoned with.

The 27-year-old brunette bombshell is a social media maven, doling out new content regularly to her 9 million Instagram followers (and counting). But don’t think Ratchford relies just on her looks — on top of a thriving modeling career, she’s also started her own merchandise company and LLC, as well as her very own app, appropriately named “Abigail Ratchford Official.”

The reign of Ratchford has only just begun. Are you ready for her?

AskMen spoke with the sexy social media personality, and she discussed her career, when she feels her sexiest, and her favorite quality in a man, among other topics.

AskMen: If you weren’t modeling, what do you think you’d be doing instead?

Abigail Ratchford: If I weren’t modeling, I’d probably be doing interior design or party planning! I’m super creative and love seeing the final product come together, whether it’s with shoots, house projects, outfits, events, etc.

What’s your favorite curse word to use, and in what situations do you use it the most?

My favorite curse word is “puss.” I use it when someone’s being weak ... like complaining or whining a lot. I’ll be like, “Snap out of it! Stop being such a puss.”

Do you have a go-to drink you always order when you’re out?

Patrón and club soda with tons of limes.

Are pick-up lines on Instagram better or worse than in real life? What are some good ones you’ve heard, and let’s get real: Do they even work on you?

Pick-up lines in general are awful. It’s basically saying you’re not funny or clever enough to say the first thing that comes to mind, so you’re going to use a preplanned, sleazy line.

What's the key to getting past your nerves on a first date?

Just be yourself. In your mind, pretend you’re going out to see if they would be suitable to date your best friend instead of you. Sometimes when there’s so much pressure on the date going well, you can’t really act fully like yourself.

What’s your favorite quality in a guy?

My favorite quality in a guy is a sense of humor. Me and my friends call it roasting … like when you and a guy can kind of bust each other’s balls, so to speak, and be quick on your feet with one another. it’s super attractive. Also, I love people who “get it,” like references to movie lines, pop culture, observations, etc. It’s the worst when a guy’s hot, but a total dud.

If a guy wanted to get your attention, what should he do?

I like when guys are aggressive. Text me and say, “Be ready at 8, I’m picking you up.” I like that.

At what point do you feel your sexiest?

I feel sexiest after a shoot when I still have some makeup halfway on, but my hair is all messy and it looks like I just rolled out of bed. And if I change into a silk slip or loose T-shirt.

What's something you wish all men would start doing when out with a woman?

I wish more men would hold the door open way after the first date! Guys are always chivalrous in the beginning, but then get too comfortable.

Is there a woman out there in the entertainment industry that you really idolize?

JLo. She’s such a powerhouse and has worked for so many years as a singer, actor, dancer, designer, and mogul. She does it all with such grace and makes it look so effortless. Plus, she seems like an amazing mother, and is so respected by everyone in the industry.

How have you proved to audiences that you are way more than just a beautiful woman with a large social media following?

I have done countless interviews on how to capitalize on social media, started my own project called Instagive, where I give back to those in need, and have done so many things people said I would never do. I recently launched an app, “Abigail Ratchford Official,” which is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.

So what’s next for you?

This year, I definitely want to come out with my own product, lingerie, or cosmetics, for sure. I also want to get more into philanthropy and take more acting classes! I can’t wait.
