These Are the Songs People Are Listening to During Sex

Do you like listening to a good tune while getting it on? You’re probably not alone. Spotify recently shared a playlist of the songs people are listening to while having sex. And you might be surprised by the results.

The popular streaming music service recently shared the “Ultimate Foreplaylist” which includes the results of a recent study of the most popular songs to have sex to.

Ultimately we can all thank the healthcare company Kegel8 – a company perhaps most famous for selling pelvic floor toners for both men and women – for collecting the Spotify data.

For one, “Let's Get It On” was entirely absent from any of the search terms identified for further study. Keywords like “date night,” “Netflix and chill,” “sex,” and “baby making” were used in a search string, and the results were collated and ranked appropriately.

While Barry White, Elvis, and David Bowie don't seem to make the cut with today's listeners looking to set a sensual, sexy mood, more contemporary artists certainly seem to be burning up the charts. John Legend, Trey Songz, The Weeknd, Jeremih, Bryson Tiller, and yes, Ed Sheeran, all make multiple appearances across the search terms.

If the somewhat chaste “date night” is what you had in mind, Ed Sheeran reigns supreme. His song “Perfect” comes in at the No. 1 spot, and “Thinking out Loud” rests right in the slot at No. 2, flanking crooner John Legend's “All of Me” at No. 2. And while you might have wondered if this song would ever leave the airwaves in 2001, way down at the bottom of the top 10 you’ll find John Mayer’s “Your Body Is a Wonderland.”

If “baby making” is more your speed, among those hoping for conception – or at least a little bit of lovin’ – “Neighbors Know My Name” by Trey Songz was the first hit. Usher's “Nice & Slow” follows just behind, and Ginuwine's “In Those Jeans” rounds out the list. Trey Songz must be getting a lot of people in the mood, though, because his name appears three times in the first ten slots.

Finally, horny hiphop-heads and randy rock fans searching “sex” will get a full serving of Jeremih and The Weeknd. As a matter of fact, The Weeknd is the most popular man to listen to when hitting the sheets, at least according to this Spotify data.

Is it really that surprising? After all, The Weeknd has some serious charisma and swagger.

So, take it from the pros. Dim the lights, and let the “Ultimate Foreplaylist” lead you. If anything, you’ll at least be listening to some pretty good tunes.
