Singles in America Study Says Attitudes About Nude Selfies Are Changing

Whether d*ck pics are offensive or just a massive joke on social media might vary. However, according to a new study it seems that a lot of Gen Zers don’t have a problem sending them.

The 2019 Singles in America study suggests that nearly half — or 44 percent — of young men belonging to Generation Z (those born in the mid-1990s to early 2000s) have sent a d*ck pic to a potential sex partner. While this may seem fairly bold to some of us in older gens, it seems to be pretty day-to-day for others.

But don’t worry. Gen Z isn’t just a bunch of creepers. After all, 54 percent of young men had actually been asked to send one — so consent is clearly on the table in many cases it seems.

Besides, it's not as if some folks from previous eras aren't sending nudes, either. According to the study, when considering both men and women as a whole, just over one-third of millennials (or 37 percent) admitted to sending nude photos of themselves to others. This number drops to one-quarter with Generation X and drops further to an unimpressive 11 percent among Baby Boomers.

As no surprise to anyone, Grandpa and Grandma were at absolute rock-bottom levels when it comes to sending pics of their naked bods, with only three percent participating.

There is more than one downside to all of these fun and games. For instance, while men and women of Generation Z were the most flippant about sending nudes, they were also the most likely to share sexy pics they had received — rather than sent — with others. Nearly one-quarter of Gen Z'ers said they had done so, breaking at least a few codes of honor in the process — while one-fifth of Millennials raised their hands when asked the same question.

Bottom line? Maybe it's better to show off your naked bod in person, rather than over a dating app or social media platform. Or risk someone else seeing it.
