Gal Meets Glam Collection Courtney Dress (now back in stock!)
My mind is often skipping ahead a season or two, thanks to the Gal Meets Glam Collection launches we’re prepping weeks ahead of time, as well as the new styles we’re designing months ahead of time (I’ve been working on August 2020 recently). This schedule can make it challenging to be present when I’m so excited for what is ahead! Thankfully, the weather keeps me solidly in the correct season–it’s just not time to bring out fall pieces in Charleston, where the summer heat and humidity are still in full force, quite yet. Out of every season, summer is the one when I’m the most drawn to laid-back, casual outfits. Even when it comes to my go-to dresses, I’m more likely to reach for a simple silhouette or relaxed fabric in the summer, rather than some of the more structured or detailed pieces I love wearing throughout the rest of the year. One of my all-time favorite GMGC dresses and one of our best sellers, the Courtney dress, is back in stock! We were able to recut her right after she sold out back in April and you can shop her now- while it’s still warm out (and will be for quite some more time…)!
No matter how casual the items I’m shopping for are, quality and versatility remain my top priorities. I love wearing a variety of pieces too much to ever adopt a capsule wardrobe, but even so, I’ve worked hard to curate the classic basics that I reach for again and again. Many of these pieces fall into my summer wardrobe, from the perfect white tee, to my go-to striped maxi dress, to a comfortable pair of neutral sandals. With all of these staples, putting forth some effort upfront into finding my ideal pieces makes summer dressing a breeze. Since my outfits this summer have revolved around my growing bump, I took a look back through last summer’s Daily Looks to find a few examples of my casual summer staples in action. Here’s a peek at how I’ve worn a favorite relaxed tee, a linen blouse, and white denim shorts. I have no doubt I’ll be reaching for some of these exact pieces as we close out summer by spending lots of time close to home with Baby B!

Slip into this midi dress and throw on a hat. Spending the day by the lake? You can never go wrong with classic stripes. Grabbing a table outside at your favorite brunch spot? There is still plenty of time to finish up your summer bucket list, and these pieces make achieving a laid-back, but polished, look practically effortless.

Xirena Pants
Earlier this year, I stocked up on a few pieces from Xirena that I’ve been living in over the past couple of months. These pants and this top (https://shopstyle.it/l/6HeL) are made of a light gauzy material that works just as well for lounging at home as it does for running around town on the weekend.
Margaux Sandals
I’ve always been a huge fan of Margaux shoes and have quite a few pairs of their flats. Their signature sandal is just as classic, combining a polished look with the comfort of a flat slide sandal.
