New Flying Yacht Glides Five Feet Above the Water

Who doesn’t love gliding through the water on a fancy yacht? Better yet, who doesn’t want a yacht that can fly? Now, in 2019, one yacht manufacturer is making everyone’s dreams come true with a boat that can “fly.”

The Enata Foiler comes in at a rather impressive 32 feet in length and looks almost like it came directly off the set of a high-budget Batman movie. All black with slick curves and sharp angles, the yacht is equal parts cosmopolitan and eye-catching, appearing at once dangerous and probably a whole lot of fun to pilot.

The secret to this super-yacht's success? A set of retractable hydrofoils which dip into the water. This boat has a top speed of 40 knots, backed by a duo of V-8 marine diesel engines putting out a whopping 740 horsepower (again bringing Bruce Wayne and his exorbitant wealth to mind).

The Enata Foiler isn't cheap, though. A listing on Yachtworld has a single boat listed for just over $1 million USD, so make sure you're saving up your coins if you plan on buying one. Beyond that, you'll also have to travel to exotic Abu Dhabi.

If you're just into the aesthetic, the yacht will be making a heavily advertised feature appearance at the annual Abu Dhabi International Boat Show this October so be sure to pack a briefcase full of high-denomination bills, some designer linen shirts and your Ray-Bans.

A carbon-fiber body, newly implemented joystick controls and a barely-there engine noise suggest total luxury when it comes to the newest iteration of the Enata Foiler.

But the best part? If flying above the crashing surf isn't exactly your cup of tea, you can actually retract the four hydrofoils back into the yacht's body, turning the flying yacht into a super-fast speedboat.

The official Foiler website makes it as plain as day that they are targeting a luxe demographic, saying as much in a brief marketing blurb.

“Voyage into luxury in complete serenity as you experience something new. The FOILER glides above the water, while her retractable foils and futuristic design deliver a unique presence and bold extravagance. FOILER will create a little drama in your life and turn heads — but who wouldn't want that?”

Words will only do so much to impress upon the audience the absolute intensity and wonder that this watercraft represents. To see it in action, peruse any number of the videos made available by the manufacturer themselves and make up your mind whether or not it would be better to make the next mortgage payment, or skip it.

After all, if you sell the house, you might be able to make a down payment on a flying yacht.
