Putting Toothpaste On Your Penis Is Not a Good Idea, Says Doctors

We've all seen the kind of strange porn involving food — no, not food porn, but the other way around — which has permeated the internet since the earliest days of dial-up. Now, in a shocking new twist, it turns out that some men are applying toothpaste to their penis, and it could lead to burns and blisters.

Yes, you read that right. British men in particular are now being warned to refrain from applying toothpaste to their genitalia. According to Metro, there are guys who believe that rubbing minty fresh toothpaste on their unit will enhance the sexual experience for both parties — making men last longer and women feel the tingles alongside their partner.

However, as most of us might guess, there are some serious dangers and downsides to using Crest, Arm & Hammer or Colgate as your favorite fun-time lubricants. Not only do toothpastes contain bleaching agents, peppermint oils, chemicals and gritty abrasives that can actually damage your d*ck in no time flat, but the residue left over inside of a woman can lead to serious infections. This is a lose-lose for both (all) parties.

After all, not putting toothpaste where it doesn't belong seems like a matter of common sense, right? Wrong, as it turns out. There’s no shortage of instructional YouTube videos advising men how to perfectly apply the right amount of toothpaste to their junk before jumping in the sack with their partners, and it's almost a certainty that some of these viewers follow through on the guidelines laid out for them.

And the experts seem to agree. Pharmacist James O'Loan of online consultancy Doctor-4-U strongly advised against men adding toothpaste to their bedroom drawer in lieu of lube, warning against the many problems associated with such a preposterous practice.

“I'd urge anyone thinking of trying this rather worrying 'toothpaste' technique to cease and desist. It won't do anything at all to combat premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction, despite the claims being made in these videos,” said the doctor. “The peppermint oils and other chemicals in toothpaste, including bleaching agents, can be extremely irritating to sensitive skin. By putting it on your genitals you actually risk a mild burn, as well as blisters and scarring. And toothpaste should in no way be used as a lubricant, either.”

O'Loan would go on to discuss other avenues of maintaining sexual pleasure, such as well-known erectile dysfunction drug Viagra, premature ejaculation drug Fortacin and numbing agents lidocaine and prilocaine for those guys who want to keep going well into the night, without risking the dangers of toothpaste.
