Six Flags Offering Cash to Last 30 Hours in a Casket With Your Partner

Everyone loves snuggling up with their partner, right? Whether you're getting close in bed or on the couch, watching Netflix or Hulu, there are few things more relaxing. But do you think it would be as comfy cuddling up in a couples' casket? How about spending 30 hours inside a cramped casket alongside your special someone?

If you can last 30 hours with your favorite person, Six Flags has some cash for you.

That's precisely the challenge on offer from amusement park kings Six Flags. Gearing up for a totally spooky Halloween season, Six Flags is offering a significantly scary prize to those couples who accept the call of the grave.

So, what exactly do you get if you last the entire 30 hours? According to Six Flags, if you can handle the extreme claustrophobia, lack of internet access, and very brief bathroom breaks you'll end up with a cool $600, two 2020 gold season passes and a “fright fest prize package” filled with, well, frightening merch and swag.

Doesn't sound that bad, right? Well, alongside the raw difficulty of spending that much time in a casket with the love of your life — and if the relationship lasts the full 30 hours, you know you have a keeper — the two unlucky lovebirds will also be subjected to all of the things that come with a house of horrors. A brief disclaimer attached to the contest entry form spells out the fact that participants will have to run the gamut of grimy Halloween tricks, from lighting effects to cool atmospheric tricks.

“Participants must be 18 years of age or older, and in good health. Participants will potentially be exposed to fog, dramatic lighting, flash photography and extreme weather conditions. Safety is our number one priority. We maintain the right to alter any rules and conditions at any time.”

You’ll have to complete your registration for the Fright Fest 30-Hour Couples Coffin Challenge by noon on September 29. Then, six couples will be chosen to chill out in a casket on October 12 through Sunday, October 13. You’ll also need to find your own way to Maryland, the state in which the spectacle of death is to be held.

This latest seasonal stunt from Six Flags echoes a very similar event they held last year. In 2018, six single individuals were tasked with spending 30 hours inside of a smaller coffin, and all six participants managed to survive the experience, making for some great laughs and some greater publicity for the park. Participants Brian Johnson, Keith Richter, Matt Daley, Olivia Crabtree, Stacey Wagner and Stevi Rogers were named the victors after a grueling, ghostly overnight, and were only afforded six minutes per hour to do their business.

Do you think you and your boo could go the distance? If you live near Maryland, you might want to consider stepping up to the gravestone. The money and fame could be well worth it.
