“I’ve always had a goal to own a supercar one day,” she says. “There wasn’t one specific thing that kick-started my interest, but both my mum and dad loved driving, and I spent a lot of time in the car growing up. I am from a small country town in Australia and we all had to pile in the car in order to go anywhere. When I moved to Dubai, my interest started to grow more because I got to see supercars on a daily basis.”

But as you can imagine, a tall, blonde and beautiful woman like Hirschi struggled a bit to prove herself in the male-dominated world of automotives.

“At first, it was very difficult for two reasons,” she says. “First, because I’m a woman. I didn’t think it would be an issue but I very quickly realized we’ve got some way to go before females are given respect [in this industry]. It’s amazing how many times I’ve been accused of using my body to get to where I am, whereas a man would never have that assumption. That really needs to change.”

As for the second, Hirschi notes how she came into this industry with a very different perspective and voice than what people are typically used to. “For so long we’ve only really heard about cars from the experts, but the issue is that there are so many people who love cars, but the technical lingo often goes straight over their heads and they lose interest,” she adds. “I came into this wanting to open up the car world, make it fun and also make cars relatable, speak about them in terms everyone understands.”

And with 5 million followers, she’s clearly doing something right.

AskMen spoke with the car aficionado about her absolute favorite ride of all time, engaging with fans and her love/hate relationship with a few male style trends.

First and foremost, let’s talk cars. What’s your favorite ride and why is it so special to you?

It was a special moment for me when I bought my first-ever supercar: the Lamborghini Huracan 610-4. I worked so hard to get to that point so that’s why she means so much to me. The reason I bought it is because it’s one of my favorite-sounding cars. The pops and crackles always lift my mood, she looks aggressive and she’s also quite practical because there’s a front lift, the doors go out like a normal sedan and it’s easy to drive.

With such a large following, how do you sort through all the messages you receive on social media?

The reality is, I can’t read all my messages. Some of my videos will have hundreds of thousands of comments, and I receive thousands of DMs a day. As soon as I upload, I always take time to read the comments as they come in and reply, but if I read them all I’d have no time to film and actually run the business. Everyone is so busy juggling work, family and everything else that I really appreciate it when they take time out of their day to watch my content, so I always try to make an effort to read some comments on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube every day.

I try to engage more with the positive comments because sometimes haters just write to you to get attention, so I try my best to ignore them. It’s taken me a while to get used to ignoring the negativity. It can be hard when people give you their opinion of you every minute of every day, but I get through it because there are so many supporters who equally tell me how much they love my content.

Along with the feedback you receive about your work with cars, are there a fair share of pick-up lines mixed in, too?

I’ve been with my husband for 17 years, and he’s a massive supporter of what I do. He even quit his job to come and work with me. When men try to pick me up on social media, they mainly just tell me what car they own hoping it will pique some interest.

As someone who’s already found the perfect person, what’s your favorite quality in a man?

A man who takes the time every day to remind you they love you. A guy who is thoughtful and caring. The other quality I love is ambition.

When you’re not behind the wheel, what can we find you doing?

I love spending time with my dog, just hanging out and giving him some attention. My other favorite thing is sitting on a beach, reading.

And when do you feel your sexiest or most empowered?

When I’m all dressed up for a date night. I film almost every day so I always have to get dressed up and put on makeup for the camera, so it’s nice when I can just do that for myself.

What’s something you think all men should be doing when out with a woman?

I’m all for strong, independent women, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like being treated like a woman and keeping some traditions alive. For me, it’s about chivalry. I really appreciate when a man opens the door for me or let’s me go first.

Let’s talk style for a minute. Name a trend that you love for men, and also a trend that you hate for men.

I really like cropped trousers. It gives a man the opportunity to show off some cool socks or just rock a shoe without pants getting in the way.

I think men can pull off anything if they do it with confidence. Wear something, anything and make people believe you’re ahead of the trend and they just need to catch up!

Name three other women out there that you think we should be following and why.

@micahgianelli: There are lots of people showcasing fashion on Instagram but I just love her style. She is so body confident and she rocks outfits I could only dream of rocking. I don’t think she even knows I follow her. I’m kind of a secret stalker.

@rahamoharrak: I had the pleasure of working with her for a brand. Her journey is so inspiring. She is the first Saudi Arabian woman to summit the highest peak in seven continents.

@lelepons: She is one of the first creators I followed. She works so hard creating interesting content and has come so far that it reminds me that there is so much potential in this industry.

What’s been a career highlight thus far, and what’s planned for the future?

I have so many highlights. I think growing my following from 6 million to over 16 million in the last year is something that makes me proud. I’ve also generated over 2 billion minutes of watch time, which is quite crazy to think about [because] it basically means people have watched my content for nearly 2,000 years back-to-back.

As for the future, I just filmed my first TV show, so I might have another one coming out in the next year. I am also expanding my merchandise businesses.
