The romantic, vintage look of a smocked blouse, top or dress seems to never go out of style. Especially for spring and summer, the lightweight, yet opaque detail that smocking offers is always wonderfully forgiving. The stretchy give is so comfortable and flattering, and holds well on it’s own, which makes it ideal for strapless and off the shoulder styles. Clothing that hugs in just the right places isn’t always easy to find, but you’re practically guaranteed with a smocked style, even if it’s in the smallest details like a smocked sleeve, cuff, or mock neckline, as I’m sharing here in this Doen top and dress. See below for a round-up of more smocked styles to slip into this season.

Ruffle Trimmed Top

This smocked top with ruffled details is perfect for spring and summer. The cheerful floral and yellow pattern would pair well with white jeans and sandals.

Embroidered Maxi Dress

The smocking and embroidered eyelet trim on this white maxi adds a charming look for spring and summer. Wear it with flat sandals by day and a dressier shoe for a special occasion.

Fruit-Printed Top

Long puffed sleeves give this smocked top a little something extra for chillier spring and summer evenings. The fun fruit print styles well with a casual pair of jeans and low-heeled sandal.
