Doesn’t the word “glamping” have a nice ring to it?

Now more than ever it feels like we’re being inspired to look at what is in our own American back yard. With travel restrictions and fears of travel circulating the U.S., many of you have shared interest in road trips this summer.

Last week I was invited to stay at Camp Sarika at Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah. While Camp Sarika isn’t necessarily considered “glamping” a lot of you wrote in asking for similar experiences in a friendlier price range. I did a deep dive down the web, and my archives, to round-up the chicest glamping spots across the country.

Are you planning a road trip? Do you have a special glamping spot to share?

Collective Retreats in Wolcott, Colorado

From the “Farm to Ranch” food to the outrageous views of the Vail Valley, this glamping spot has it all. You are in the middle of nature, and simultaneously just minutes away from the city center of Vail. Unlike regular camping, you will have a concierge at your service to book activities like wine tasting and horseback riding. Honestly, I don’t think I would need much else to be happy here.

Collective Retreats Yellowstone in Big Sky, Montana

Views on views on views. And sign me up for the in-tent massage. Collective Retreats Yellowstone is currently expanding their assortment of rooms, so I am pretty certain this place can only get better. Right on the water and by one of the most beautiful national parks, the location is absolutely ideal.

Pinnacle Camp in Greenough, Montana

Pinnacle Camp is the pinnacle of luxury. Let’s just start by saying you have a “camping butler.” The chef cooks right in front of you, and I am simply overwhelmed by how beautiful the bathrooms are. Seriously, just take a look for yourself. There are six rooms spread across the campground, so pick your preference! If you are seeking a very elevated experience, this could be your spot.

El Capitan Canyon in Santa Barbara, California

I stayed here years ago and still think about it. I love El Capitan because you can choose from safari tents to full cedar cabins, so you can decide how “outdoorsy” you’d like your experience to be. Add onto your experience with their selection of special packages, like barbecue kits and massages. Santa Barbara itself is simply a stunning place to visit, so you really cannot go wrong.

High Sierra Camp in Sequoia National Park, California

Another place I’ve been! And loved! With 30 tents on the property, this spot is a glamping favorite. Lunch is a pack-your-own-picnic, so it was perfect for a long day hike. Click here for some pictures from our amazing visit a few years back. Click here to see my post from High Sierra Camp.

Eastwind Hotel & Bar, Lushna Cabin in Windham, New York

While Eastwind is a hotel at its core, they have added three Lushna cabins. “What is a Lushna cabin?” you may ask. Ultra sleek, Scandinavian style camping. These structures are making their mark, featured in tons of design publications including Dwell. So, if you are on the East Coast and looking for an upscale outdoor experience, this is where it’s at.

Under Canvas in Moab, Utah

Can you even handle how beautiful this is? I sure can’t. Under Canvas offers two, three and four night stays with activities included. From ziplining to Hummer safaris, if you’re looking for an adventure, this is it. They also offers glamping in locations across the US, so be sure to check out their other sites to find your absolute favorite.

Caravan Outpost in Ojai, California

Have you ever stayed in an airstream? It’s a must. Such a unique experience that is great for a quick weekend getaway with girlfriends. The perfect combination of outdoorsy and cool, a trip to Caravan Outpost is the perfect way to clear your head. I stayed here a few years back and loved it so much that I returned a couple years later with Grant. It’s safe to say, this is high on my list of recommendations.

Have you been glamping before? Any favorites? I would love to hear!
