Find A New Boo With These Halloween Pick Up Lines

Messaging a new match can seem scarier than any horror movie. How do you catch their attention? Is a simple "hey" too casual, or not casual enough? How many emoji should you add? It's enough to freak anyone out.

A half-serious, cheesy pickup line can take away the pressure and show your sense of humor at the same time. Whether you go silly, sweet, or just really out-there, maybe your message will land you a new "boo." (See? You're already getting in the spirit.)

Looking for a socially distanced date or some sexy texting banter in time for Halloween? Check out these spooky lines to land a match before the big night.

"I'd never ghost you — not even on Halloween."

Why it works: It's earnest, yes. But reassuring. Just try to keep your word.
"Want to see a horror movie? I'm looking for someone to hold me during the scary parts."

Why it works: For one thing, it can lead to an actual IRL hangout. You're making plans, and getting a little flirty while doing so.
"I don't have a costume, can I go as your date?"

Why it works: Cheesy? Yes. Cute? Definitely.
"You make my heart beat faster than a haunted house."

Why it works: Knowing you have someone else's heart pounding is just plain flattering.
"Are you a ghost? You've been haunting my dreams all night."

Why it works: It's a little much, but very on theme.
"I 'witch' you'd go out with me."

Why it works: It leaves and opening for them to respond: "Only if you buy me a brew."
"Went trick-or-treating, but I didn't get any Hershey's. Can you share some kisses?"

Why it works: This works best if you've already had a few make out sessions with the person you're sending it to. From there-forth, it's endearing and adorable.
"Will you zom-be mine?"

Why it works: Because unlike zombies, the art of the pun is not yet dead.
"This might be (candy) corny, but will you go out with me?"

Why it works: It definitely is corny, but strangely effective if the person doesn't have too wry a sense of humor.
"I'm a ghoul for you."

Why it works: This works best if you've already been volleying some Halloween jokes or puns back and forth via DM.
"Will you be my boo?"

Why it works: It's straightforward and on theme.
"I found this great couple's costume, want to dress up as the other half?"

Why it works: This works best when used ironically on a first message, or when you've been dating for a while. It can be fun when played correctly, but I ordinarily wouldn't break it out on someone you've been dating less than a month unless it's clearly a joke.
"You're bewitching."

Why it works: Everybody loves a compliment.
"You must be a zombie, you're drop-dead gorgeous."

Why it works: If their love language is "words of affirmation," they'll probably love this.
"It's spooky how hot you are!"

Why it works: Again, who doesn't love compliments.
"I'd sit in a pumpkin patch with you any night."

Why it works: Honestly, you'll get extra points for invoking the Charlie Brown nostalgia.
"Talking to you makes me feel like I'm under a spell."

Why it works: Let's get real. It's one thing to praise someone's looks. But it means so much more when you note that you like talking to them, or can compliment something that's more than skin deep.
"If Pennywise had you in that sewer, I would've climbed in immediately!"

Why it works: You're basically saying you'd do anything for them. Just make sure they've seen Stephen King's It.
"You don't have to worry; I'm all treats, no tricks."

Why it works: No one likes to be hoodwinked!
"You should dress up as a vampire — you can bite my neck any time!"

Why it works: We here at Refinery29 advocate for asking for what you want in bed. And this is a great way to kick that habit off.
"I know what you should be for Halloween: mine."

Why it works: It's a clever twist on the classic Valentine's Day "be mine" troupe.
"You're sweeter than any Halloween candy."

Why it works: It'll make them blush.
"I'm not dressing up as a ghost, but you can get under my sheets."

Why it works: A saucier line, but it might make them chuckle... especially if they've already been imagining joining you under your Egyptian cottons.
"Your costume looks great on you! It'd look even better off you."

Why it works: This one is bold. Only break it out with someone who seems equally into some dirty flirty chatting. Still, it's a twist on a classic, and might make them smile.

Like what you see? How about some more R29 goodness, right here?
