Sounds easy, right? But, some guys don’t like to smile because they are uncomfortable doing so. If this is the case, then practice your grin, the best smile is an authentic one. The Center for Nonverbal Studies has shown subjects perceive even a neutral or expressionless face as unfriendly.

Be More Attractive Tip #2 Use Positive Body Language

A 2016 study — from researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University, the University of Texas at Austin, and Northwestern University — suggests that people who display expansive body language are more attractive. Participants saw someone with crossed arms or hunched shoulders as less dateable:

• Hunching up makes you look like you're retreating into yourself, that doesn't invite people in
• Crossing your arms makes you ready to block an attack from the person talking to you, not a welcoming sign either

The same person standing tall with open arms appeared more dateable. So guys – straighten up, open up and relax.

 

Be More Attractive Tip #3 Surround Yourself With Attractive Women

One study from the University of California at San Diego asked participants to rate the attractiveness of people in solo vs group pictures – and people in groups fared significantly better. What's going on there? It might seem counterintuitive, why would a woman be attracted to a guy who's hanging out with other women and looks too busy for anyone else?

Well, psychologist Dr Sarah Hill from Texas Christian University says this gives men the halo effect. Simply put, no woman wants a man other people don’t want. If you are desirable enough to have lots of friends, particularly women, you obviously have traits women find attractive.

 

Be More Attractive Tip #4 Wear Red

Research is clear, color has a strong role in attraction. The University of Rochester published a multicultural study in the Journal of Experimental Psychology which found the ‘red effect' made men seem more powerful, attractive, and sexually desirable.

Let's be clear, I'm not suggesting an all-red suit and save the sexy fireman costume for Halloween. Just one item of red clothing, a sweater or jacket, is enough to project:

In today’s fast-paced society, showing someone you're thinking of them with a Facebook message or text is a great way to increase your attractiveness. Relationship coaching expert Corey Lane writes that texting helps facilitate and underscore the mystery of romance for women.

Follow these simple guidelines and you will have a great chance of increasing your attractiveness with texting:

• Keep it short – long messages can be overwhelming.
• Think before you message – letters on a screen can be misinterpreted without body language, tone of voice etc so take your time and be clear, use correct spelling.
• Use emojis – there are a great way to show your emotions and add some fun to what is otherwise plain letters on a screen.
• Timing is important – find a balance between seeming anxious and coming across as a jerk who is not finding time for someone who should feel important.

Do you have a bald spot or thinning hair? This is for you. A 2012 study in ‘Social Psychological and Personality Science' had people rate photos of men with hair and with digitally shaved heads.

Participants rated the bald men as being more dominant, confident, masculine, taller, you name it. In fact, this effect still showed up when the experimenters used no photos, just verbal descriptions.

 

Be More Attractive Tip #7 Be Kind

A 2014 Chinese study made a startling discovery: Images of men described with positive personality traits – such as kindness and integrity – appear more PHYSICALLY attractive to women.

In other words, to look more attractive: show kindness, give more compliments and be a good listener.

A 2013 British study backed this up. They found women find men more appealing when they do volunteer work. It shows you have time and resources to share, you're conscientious and a man they can depend on.

 

Be More Attractive Tip #8 Wear Shades

Vanessa Brown of Nottingham Trent University in the UK aimed to find out why everyone looks hotter in sunglasses. She found a number of factors:

• Sunglasses hide your expression and prevent eye contact, creating the allure of mystery.
• Your facial symmetry is improved by obscuring any slight anomalies around your eyes.
• Celebrities are constantly pictured wearing shades, you're using the pure power of association.

 

Be More Attractive Tip #9 Smell Good To Look Good

In a 2009 International Journal of Cosmetic Science study, researchers told two groups of men to try out a new deodorant. One group got a genuine, scented deodorant. The other got a placebo – a fake deodorant that did nothing for their BO.

Women rated the nice-smelling men as better-looking than their stinky counterparts. Hardly surprising, is it?

But here's the kicker, this was on video, the women couldn't smell the men. The effect of the men believing they smelt good was so powerful, their confidence came through as attractiveness even on a screen.
