My two favorite fabrics for spring and summer are linen and cotton. Lightweight, breathable, soft, comfortable and essential in the warm and humid southern climate. I have always loved cotton styles, never really caring if one is slightly sheerer than another (I simply wear nude colored under garments). Cottons pieces come in so many different types: the all classic basic, cotton with add stretch, textured crinkled, sheer muslin, crisp poplin, puckered seersucker, soft chambray, and more. I have an assortment of all of the above in dresses,,skirts, tops, blouses, pants, skirts and more. In fact, I would say that most of my spring and summer wardrobe is filled with lightweight cotton pieces and I plan to add even more as the weather heats up in the coming months. Tiered Gauze Dress
In love with the elegant simplicity of this slightly tiered white gauze midi dress. The cotton gauze is medium weight, allowing for less sheerness.
Eyelet Top
Slip on this pretty dusty blue cotton eyelet top with a pair of white cropped jeans or shorts and sandals on a warm spring day.
Tie-Shoulder Dress
I recently shared the white version of this cotton tie-shoulder dress with scalloped edging. Both shades would look great with a simple pair of leather sandals.
