Kurt Cobains Sweater, Fender Mustang Guitar and Seattle Home Up for Auction

Attention all Nirvana fans! If you're still headbanging to “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” shuffling your feet to “Heart-Shaped Box” or getting angsty over “In Bloom,” you might want to stop by Julien’s Auctions for a chance to bid on some of Kurt Cobain’s items, including his famous sweater.

Remember the heavily pilled olive-green cardigan that frontman Kurt Cobain rocked for his iconic 1993 MTV Unplugged performance? You know, the one that looked more like something your grandmother might wear rather than a since-departed grunge god?

Now, that piece of music history is up for sale, alongside other items.

Kurt Cobain's beat-up cardigan — and other amazing items from rock history — will be put on the auction block by Julien's Auctions in New York City on October 25 and October 26. The cardigan will be joined by another holy grail of the grunge scene, Cobain's custom-built left-handed Fender Mustang guitar. Cobain played the teal-colored instrument throughout Nirvana's legendary In Utero tour.

An Elton John jumpsuit, David Bowie self-portrait, Michael Jackson glove and handwritten (by Mick Jagger) Rolling Stones setlist from 1965 will also make an appearance at the Icons & Idols: Rock ‘N’ Roll auction event.

Some of Elvis Presley’s personal effects will be auctioned off as well, including a custom 1968 Fender Telecaster and his personal 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL and 1976 Harley-Davidson XLH Sportster 1000.

If auctions aren't entirely your thing — and your budget is even larger than what you'd need to show up to Julien's in NYC — you might also consider purchasing Cobain's $7.5 million Seattle home. Built in 1902 and located in a quiet neighborhood, the 8,200-square-foot home boasts four bedrooms, four baths, a modernized open-concept, stone detailing and extensive millwork and moldings.

Placed on three-quarters of an acre, the property also includes scenic gardens, garages, and even a classic wine cellar — the greenhouse above the garage where Cobain was found following his suicide has since been torn down.
