Robert Pattinson Says He'll Do Porn If The Next Batman Movie Does Not Do Well

The highly anticipated "The Batman" is expected to hit theaters in June of 2021, but star Robert Pattinson is giving some fans a reason to not mark their calendars for the release date.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the new Bruce Wayne joked that if his upcoming Batman movie is a dud, he'll have no choice but to do "art house porn."

Hey, at least he's keeping it a little classy.

All jokes aside, Pattinson's role as the latest Batman is his biggest to date and he does seem to be genuinely concerned about living up to the iconic superhero — and the comic's rabid fanbase. 

“I’m already remembering what it’s like to talk about a movie where there’s an expectation," he says, recalling his days as a sparkly-skinned vampire in the "Twilight" franchise. "Whenever you say anything, people are like, ‘Argh! You idiot!’ Like, dude, I haven’t even started yet!”

Despite a decade of starring roles in blockbusters and critically-lauded indie films such as "Good Time" and "Maps to the Stars," the 33-year-old actor is quite convinced that he doesn't really know how to act. He admits that he gets very nervous on every movie shoot and is always convinced that the worst-case scenario is actually going to happen.

Prior to "The Batman," it had been quite a few years since Pattinson worked on a major studio film, so his nerves are understandable. He's also working alongside an impressive cast of stars, including Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman; Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth; Paul Dano as The Riddler; and Colin Farrel has been rumored as The Penguin. Everything considered, it's no wonder he wants to nail the part.

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until 2021 to find out if Pattinson's concerns about his acting in "The Batman" are a self-fulfilling prophecy. But until then, he can be found alongside Willem Dafoe in "The Lighthouse" — a role that is rumored to be worthy of nabbing the "non-actor" an Academy Award nomination. The movie also features a much-discussed "ferocious masturbation scene" that could easily serve as a gateway to Pattinson's joked-about porn career if his turn as the Batman truly does fall through.
