Anthony Bourdain's Posthumous Book 'World Travel: An Irreverent Guide' Is Available for Pre-Order on Amazon

It's been over a year since Anthony Bourdain sadly took his own life, but fans are still being treated to little tidbits and insights into the chef, author and world traveler's extraordinary existence on this planet.

In October, a new book will be posthumously released with the help of some of Bourdain's closest friends. He began "World Travel: An Irreverent Guide" before his death in June of 2018, so the majority of the content will be in his own words. You can expect the travel guide to include the engaging television host's usual wit and sarcasm, along with the irreverent attitude for which he was so beloved by fans the world over. The book's description also teases insights and advice for visiting locales such as Paris, Oman, Buenos Aires, and his stomping grounds in New York City. 

In addition to Bourdain's own words, his assistant Laurie Woolever — who also co-wrote his last cookbook "Appetites" — has stepped in to fill in any gaps in time for its release in the fall.

"I was lucky to work closely with Tony for nearly a decade," Woolever said in a recent press release. "And I’m so pleased to be able to share his reflections and insights about the world, as he saw it, in this guide."

Bourdain often leaned on his friends for guidance as he traveled the world for his hit shows, including "No Reservations" and "Parts Unknown." So it's no surprise that so many of them would step in to help him complete this new book even after he's gone. "World Travel: An Irreverent Guide" will include essays written by the people who knew Bourdain best —- including his brother Chris —- and each chapter will begin with a sketch by cartoonist Tony Millionaire, like the one seen on the book's cover.
