CES 2020 Proves Amazon's Alexa Has Become Inseparable from Tech Innovations

Think of an everyday product that can't be integrated with Amazon's intuitive Alexa technology ... We'll wait.

Pretty difficult, right? With more than 100,000 Alexa-compatible smart home products on the market today, you can essentially run an entire home — from doorbells and thermostats to lights and entertainment — through a variety of Amazon's smart home helpers, including the Echo Show and Echo Dot. So it really should come as no surprise that the e-retail giant is one of the biggest headliners of this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Surrounded by a host of other innovative tech developers and ingenious device makers, Amazon is headed into CES 2020 with a variety of new smart technology integrations — from cars to TVs — to get really, really excited about.

Sure, there are plenty of options to integrate Alexa into your vehicle, but Amazon has announced this week that they're taking things to a whole new level. Automobili Lamborghini is fitting its Huracan Evo range with full Alexa compatibility starting in 2020, and Rivian will also integrate the smart tech into its first two all-electric vehicles, the R1S and R1T. If you're not in the market for a new (very expensive) car, however, Echo Auto will launch internationally this year so that even more users can bring the helpful tech to their daily commute. It is slated to feature improvements to the in-car experience, including the ability to say "Alexa, pay for gas" when you fill up at the pump.

Amazon also announced that their Fire TV Edition has provided a more seamless way for developers to integrate Alexa into their products, especially when it comes to improvements to in-car entertainment. BMW and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles are set to be the first automakers to bring the Fire TV experience to their vehicles.

Along the same lines of entertainment, television brands such as LG, Samsung and Skyworth will all release new models with built-in Alexa capabilities so consumers will have even more options to control their streaming content with just the sound of their voice.

As if their own brand of devices wasn't enough, Amazon also revealed improvements to products you may not have even known they owned. Ring, the company best known for its doorbell security tech and also just happens to be owned by Amazon, will launch a new Control Center to help users get a better handle on their connected devices, incident requests, and privacy settings. It coincides with a trend in Alexa-powered devices offering new features to help users manage their data and privacy — a now-dwindling issue that has seemingly been the only hitch in using this otherwise extremely helpful smart technology. They also revealed the Ring Access Controller Pro which allows remote operation of electronic gates to welcome visitors and accept secure deliveries, as well as Ring Smart Lighting Solar devices and its first line of Smart LED Light Bulbs.

With so many more opportunities to improve the smart home experience and make it easier for developers to integrate the helpful Alexa into their devices, it appears that Amazon has really outdone themselves at CES 2020.
