“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

It’s one of the most common questions I think I got as a little girl. As many of you know, I grew up on a farm in South Texas.

Was it adventurous and full of surprises? Yes, of course. Was it also boring at times and the fact that I had zero neighbors a bummer? Absolutely.

On those slower days around the farm I would head to back yard, which consisted of thousands of acres of farmland, and lay down in the dirt and look up at the clouds.

I would stare up at the sky, making shapes and formations from the clouds above like bunnies, dogs and cats. When I would race back home to tell my mom about my discoveries, she would often encourage me to day-dream even more. Dream bigger! She would always say that “the sky is the limit” with my dreams.

It wasn’t until I became an adult that I realized how incredibly lucky I am to have had this upbringing.

My dear friend, Kirsty, reached out recently about working on a piece of jewelry together for her wildly successful and beautiful line, Retrouvai. You guys know I’m a huge fan of her work and wear her iconic pieces daily.

Kirsty and I have been friends for nearly 12 years and she is one of the kindest people I know. She is careful with her choices, thoughtful and passionate. When she does something she does it with all of her heart. We have built our businesses in tadem over the years, often sharing struggles, inside stories and bouncing ideas off one another. Unfortunately, not everyone has these types of mentors, friends and support systems throughout their lives.

Kirsty and I both knew we wanted to work on a piece of jewelry together, but it was even more important that it represented the foundation that our friendship is based upon: Empowering and lifting each other up.

It is with great pleasure that we are donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this necklace to a foundation that is working to empower women and girls to achieve their dreams.

This limited edition “Clouds” necklace was made with love to inspire others to always build castles in the sky and in our dreams. It was created to empower others to believe that when we put one foot in front of the other, you can slowly achieve these dreams in reality.
