I'll be honest, the sillage on Green Irish Tweed is a bit disappointing – considering the longevity of this fragrance, it seems odd that it isn't the sort of scent that will fill a room and make everyone turn their heads.

For some guys, this might actually be a positive. It really depends what you want from your cologne.

The keynotes in Green Irish Tweed are green florals and woodsy aromas. It smells like a walk in the woods on a spring morning, with a mix of floral and green scents that are sure to please.

The fragrance isn't too overpowering, but it's definitely strong enough to make a statement.

I find the use of unique notes such as Lemon Verbena really makes Green Irish Tweed stand out from the crowd – you don't see this kind of olfactory ingredient used very often, so it's definitely worth trying if you're looking for something different.

Creed Royal Oud

Oud = luxury. Need I say any more?

However, if you're looking for a luxurious fragrance that will make you feel like a king, Creed Royal Oud is definitely worth the investment.

The scent of Royal Oud is very rich and intense, with great longevity and moderate sillage.

From my experience, it's one of those colognes that gets better and better as it dries down.

The top notes are a bit overwhelming at first, but they eventually give way to a woody, musky, intoxicating scent.

In short, if Oud is your thing and you're looking for a luxurious cologne, Creed Royal Oud is the one for you.

Is this the sort of fragrance that suits every occasion? Probably not – let's face is, woody notes aren't exactly known for hot summer days by the pool. However, wear this bad boy in the colder months when the days grow shorter, and you've got yourself a winner.

Creed Bois De Portugal

Not many people will have heard of Creed's Bois De Portugal – which is a shame because I think it's probably one of their best releases.

It's an amber woody fragrance for men that was launched all the way back in the 1980s. According to their perfumer – Olivier Creed himself – this fragrance was highly inspired by the fragrant trees in sunny Portugal.

At first smell, you might think this fragrance is a bit too old-fashioned. However, give it a few minutes to develop on your skin, and you'll be rewarded with a truly unique scent.

Bois De Portugal has excellent longevity and moderate sillage. It's perfect for formal occasions or anytime you want to make a good impression. I won't lie – this is one heck of a masculine fragrance, so be aware that it may not be to some people's tastes. However, as with any fragrance, as long as it smells good to the wearer, then that's all that really matters.

Bois De Portugal is one of my favorite fall/winter daytime fragrances. The woody base lends itself to the colder weather, but the kick of citrus you're greeted with in the opening makes it perfect for those sunny winter days.

Creed Viking Cologne

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Viking? If you said “a big, burly man with a long beard,” then you're not wrong.

Creed Viking Cologne is a big, bold fragrance that definitely lives up to its name. It's a woody, spicy scent that will make you feel like the king of the Northmen.

This is one of those colognes that's not for the faint of heart. It's strong, it's intense, and it lingers all day long.

Creed Viking Cologne is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a statement fragrance that will turn heads. Just be aware that it's not for everybody – some people might find it a bit too overwhelming.

Viking Cologne is also one of the most complex fragrances in the Creed lineup. If you pay close enough attention (and you've got the expert nose of a master perfumer), you should be able to pick up 16 individual notes within this fragrance.

Many of which lend themselves to slightly warmer weather. Not as hot as summer, but this fragrance could certainly do a man well in the transition months of spring and fall. It's a great go-between that can help a man make that awkward journey between the super hot summer and ice cold winter.

In short, Creed Viking is a head-turner that's guaranteed to smell great on a day out with the family. Just be careful with it – after all, it's not called ‘Viking' for nothing.
