Comic book fans across the world reacted with sadness when the news broke, two days ago, that Spider-Man would no longer be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe owing to a disagreement between Sony Pictures and Disney, which owns Marvel. But by far the best response belonged to Durex Condoms:

The hashtag #SaveSpiderMan trended globally as fans reacted negatively to the news that the superhero positioned to lead the MCU into the future was disappearing from the project – as if Thanos' snap had a delayed reaction. Durex was able to inject some much-needed humor into the conversation (and promote their brand at the same time), and fans were appreciative:
@SonyPictures even condoms are seeing you messed up

But the wider conversation has still been focused on Sony Pictures and Disney, whose inability to work out a scheme for who should foot the bill for future films and how profits should be shared between the two companies has shattered the dreams for a Spidey-led MCU and royally ticked off the brand's millions of fans.
Actor Tom Holland has reportedly signed on to as many as three future Sony Spider-Man films, and the success of "Spider-Man: Far From Home" certainly hasn't motivated Sony to relinquish their hold on the character any time soon, but there's still hope that Disney and Sony will resume talks and come to an amicable arrangement.
In the meantime, distraught fans should try to have a sense of humor about the whole thing.
