Fans Think Video of Rob Gronkowski Training Means He's Returning to the NFL

Recently retired NFL superstar Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski has been making headlines for a variety of reasons. He recently announced a high-profile partnership with CBD Medic, a company which promotes cannabis-based products for health and wellness purposes, being quite open about the amount of damage his body had sustained over his football career in doing so. And now, it looks like he might be considering a return to the field.

Just last month, Gronk opened up about the head injuries he had racked up over the years, claiming that he'd “probably had, like, 20 concussions” and “five blackout ones” over a football career which spanned a little over a decade.

That doesn't seem to have stopped the former New England Patriots tight end from getting his game on, though.

In recent footage shared to Instagram Stories, Gronk was seen running some practice drills while rocking a black muscle shirt and a pair of gray shorts. A little bit of digging into his recent Instagram photos reveals that he was sharing the day with fitness guru Tony Thomas, the two of them getting their sweat on in Miami, Florida.

Of course, any sighting of the big man and multiple-time Super Bowl champion training on the gridiron is enough to send Pats fans into a frenzy, and so rumors about his return to the game started to circulate almost immediately. All of this comes despite commonly held beliefs among analysts and as Gronkowski has frequently reiterated the pain he has suffered as a result of his lengthy dip into football in recent days.

“I was in tears in my bed after a Super Bowl victory,” Gronkowski said in a press conference in August. “Football was bringing me down.”

He did indicate that he could one day return to the game that had given him so much.

“It could be the case in six months, it could be the case in two years, it could be in three years.”

Or it could be never, as many who follow professional football believe. Will Rob Gronkowski be enticed by friend and fellow Patriot powerhouse Tom Brady to rejoin the squad? Sure, it’s possible. And if not, we all wish Rob Gronkowski a happy and productive retirement.
